There are various versions of the Haṭhapradīpikā. These differ in terms of the number of chapters and verses, as well as the order of the verses. One reason for this diversity is the extensive revision that apparently took place at a very early stage of the transmission of the text. During this process, about 80 verses were added and the verses in Chapter 4 were rearranged. As the expanded version spread, new versions emerged by combining it with the original, and the pure original version disappeared almost completely. The Vulgate, which is primarily based on Brahmānanda's Jyotsnā commentary, is also a combination of several recensions and is closer to the expanded version. This paper presents the final results of the structural analysis of the Haṭhapradīpikā manuscripts carried out as part of the British-German joint project “Light on Haṭha”.
